My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative processes personal data of members, donors and interested parties (individuals) for the management of member administration, the receipt of donations, the management of financial administration, (anonymised) statistical research, conducting campaigns, and providing targeted information about various areas of focus.

My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative processes your personal data for the aforementioned purposes based on the legal obligation arising from the Political Parties Financing Act.

My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative collects and processes personal data of members, interested parties and donors. Only personal data relevant to the intended purposes is processed by My Vote Counts!.

The categories of personal data that My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative processes include:

• Personal details (such as name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth).
• Financial details (such as bank or giro account number, payment details).
• Membership details (such as information on roles within My Vote Counts!, areas of focus and the membership number).

For candidates, My Vote Counts! uses personal data for the following purposes:

• Processing applications.
• Inclusion on the candidate list.
• Retaining data on file for possible future candidacies.
• Assessing suitability for open or future positions.
• Compiling anonymised statistical data, such as the number of applicants per vacancy and the turnaround speed of vacancies.
• Adjusting and improving the recruitment and selection process.

For applicants and candidates, My Vote Counts! collects:

• Name, first names, gender, date of birth, address details, bank account number.
• Administration number (including BSN, the Dutch citizen service number).
• Nationality and place of birth.
• Details on completed and to-be-completed education, courses and internships.
• Information about the position applied for.
• Details on the nature and content of current and previous employment, and termination of previous employment.
• Other information relevant to the position, provided by the applicant.
• Certificate of good conduct where relevant.
• Other information required under applicable legal regulations.

My Vote Counts! retains personal data of applicants and candidates for a maximum of 4 weeks after the end of the candidacy or application process, unless explicit consent has been given to retain the data for longer.

Members and donors:

From members and donors, My Vote Counts! collects:

• Personal details (such as surname, first name, initials, any titles, gender, date of birth, address, postal code, place of residence, phone number, email address).
• Financial details (such as bank or giro account number, payment details).
• Membership details (information on roles within My Vote Counts!, areas of focus and the membership number). Titles, gender, phone number and contact details of assistants are optional. In addition, My Vote Counts! may record visual material (photos, audio and video recordings) in which someone is recognisably shown or audible in the recordings.

Interested parties:

From interested parties, My Vote Counts! collects the following personal data: email address, postal code, date and location of registration.

My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative does not retain personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes stated above.

The retention period for personal data depends on the purpose for which the personal data is used. For example, certain personal data (such as your name and address) processed for legal purposes must be retained for ten years by law. Once your personal data is no longer necessary, it is deleted.
